Because of heart problems arose, for me, the need to have a motor.
I use a motor assisted pedal in a way out of the ordinary. I felt
that a motor "Cyclone" and controller "Kelly" were appropriate,
allowing me to keep the 27 original reports.
Keep the three chainrings and cassette from 22-32-44 + 11> 34 was a
priority for when I use my legs, so I decided to use a chainring to the
left for the primary drive motor.
I set the regulator Kelly, with the program from PC, for a battery
current of 14 A and the N ° of maximum engine speed so do not
exceed the speed of the 25 km / h limit .
I have also an overload protection CB 15 A (24 V x 15 A = 360 W x 0.7
efficiency = 250 W) to respect the legal limit, maximum power of 250 W.
The problem was the control of pedaling (PAS), it was needed a pedal
sensor, in this absurd configuration while the engine is running the
pedals always turns.
The law says, "and finally cut off as the vehicle reaches 25 km / h or
sooner, if the cyclist stops pedaling", with the engine running I can
not stop pedaling, the only way is to remove both feet from the pedals.
Therefore it was needed a sensor on a pedal to verify the presence of a
foot.
A switch and a cable to bring the signal to the control unit was all
that was necessary to complete what is required by law (PAS).
The problem is how to bring the signal via cable from the control unit
and the solution was to use a brake cable, as they do on the handbike.
