ADY  stationary brake

A small thing but useful. A trike it is not still, it's enough the minimal slope and it goes, and then a brake by hand becomes indispensable. This is a possible solution. The idea has been to use the existing V brake by means of one grip handle, the only problem is that in order to activate the brake it takes a little time.

Turning a threaded bar we pull a cable that interferes with the normal cable of the rear V brake.
In order to block you must turn it over a long time, because the thread is fine in order to act you need about twenty turns!   Using a lever with a release it could be faster.

First of all watch the photos that are self-explanatory.

A piece of V brake, of low quality, is shortened and drilled to fasten a cord that comes from the grip handle and the threaded bar.    The lever is mounted on a hinge for brakes, recovered, with relative pierced plate that hold the spring, thus that it can turn remaining in tension.    To this point, through the pierced support of the brake pad, will pass the cord of the rear brake control whit a stop made by a dice “drilled” and lock nut.
Turning the grip handle the bar is unscrewed and the cord is pulled, the lever turns and it is leaned on the dice and fixed lock nut on the cord of the posterior brake that, finally, pulling itself, will block the wheel.
