ADY Mark
2
After having used ADY , if I had
to give it a sister, I would build it to have more sprint and to be
light.
It would be like the sister ADY but a little more young and a little
scamp.
First of all I would change the gear
change! Mounting a rear wheel sized 26" I
could use a 11>34 cog-set with eight or nine shifts,
it
would allow me to have the same excursion of ratio of ADY but without
having to use 3 shifters!
Although the 26" wheel the dimensions could be maintained equal, using
in the chassis a rear triangle of a damped MTB.
This because dimensions have been dictated from those of the inside of
my machine and this is very important for me!
One of the photos demonstrates that ADY and V.W. Passat go
very in agreement.
Removing the extra shifter it would disappear: a gear, a set of 3
gears,
a derailleur, a chain tensor, two tubes of the chassis used to hold the
derailleur, a shifter control and 2 gears guide, replaced by
modified skate wheels.
The chain-ring of 22/32/44 would be mounted regularly, with
the relative pedals, on the right .
Then
I would change the actuation system of the stationary brake, the
current, to have effect, is too slow.
I could use aluminum for the blocks of the steering (supports for the
axis of the wheels) and lighten the 20 millimeter bolts.
I would change also the dimensions of the steering
triangle. The movement of actual,
steering to the maximum, becomes tough because the lever arm is nearly
annulled.
I would use for the control of the posterior derailleur a type with
levers and not a rotating one.
I would remove the possibility to regulate the height and the distance
of the pedals.
E And then I would
maintain all the rest equal!
